How to Keep Your Mattress Clean and Protected

Cleaning a mattress may conjure images of scrubbing, spending a lot of money, and a huge mess. But don’t fret; it can be as simple as 1, 2, 3, or a colander, baking soda, and a vacuum. Mesh colanders can be purchased for under $2.00, baking soda is innocuous, and every home has a vacuum cleaner. The baking soda is a natural cleaner and natural odor eliminator.
- Get a clean mesh colander from your kitchen and fill it halfway with plain baking soda. Shake and tap the side of the colander and sprinkle baking soda evenly all over your mattress.
- Let the baking soda stay on the mattress while you do some other things, and come back later with a vacuum and cleaning attachments in hand.
- Vacuum the baking soda off the mattress. If you wish, you can let it air out a bit longer before your put your mattress protector and sheets back on.
